- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttercream frosting
- ¼ cup yellow fondant for daisies
- ¼ cup green fondant for leaves
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients alternating with the milk.
- Fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
- Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with buttercream frosting.
- Roll out the yellow fondant and cut out daisy shapes for decoration. Use the green fondant to create small leaves.
- Place the fondant daisies and leaves on top of the frosted cupcakes.
Notes
- For a fun twist, you can add food coloring to the frosting.
- Make sure the cupcakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
