- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for coating)
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar for coating.
- Roll the dough into balls and then coat with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place them on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
