Lobster Thermidor is a classic French dish that features lobster meat cooked in a creamy wine sauce, often baked in the lobster shell.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lobsters
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped shallots
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large pot, boil the lobsters for about 10 minutes and then remove the meat and chop it into chunks.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the shallots and garlic until soft.
  4. Add the white wine and reduce by half.
  5. Mix in the heavy cream, egg yolks, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until smooth.
  6. Fold in the lobster meat and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  7. Fill the lobster shells with the mixture and top with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
  • Serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
