1 pound ground beef
8 ounces turkey bacon, chopped
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped turkey bacon, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.
Form mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
Remove meatballs and set aside. In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a bit of water and stir into broth to thicken.
Stir in sour cream and return meatballs to the skillet. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
Serve meatballs with sauce over mashed potatoes or noodles.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, you can substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
