  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for strawberries)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in milk until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, and roll out to 1-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  8. While baking, mix sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let sit.
  9. For whipped cream, beat heavy cream, 2 tablespoons sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
