A delicious and quick recipe for sticky Mongolian meatballs paired with broccoli, perfect for a busy weeknight dinner.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 pound broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. Form into meatballs.
  3. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  4. While meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce by mixing brown sugar and hoisin sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Add the broccoli florets to the pan and cook until tender.
  6. Once meatballs are done, add to the sauce and toss to coat.
  7. Serve topped with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the meatballs for a few hours before cooking.
  • Feel free to use ground turkey or chicken as a substitute for beef.
