A delicious twist on a classic dish featuring layers of potatoes and turkey bacon.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 cup diced turkey bacon
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cooked bacon, onions, and cheese over the potatoes.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  6. In a saucepan, melt the butter, stir in the flour, and gradually add milk, cooking until thickened.
  7. Pour the sauce over the layered potatoes.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour, then uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
