Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Turn on the Instant Pot and select the sauté function. Add olive oil and turkey bacon, cooking until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside.
  2. Add onions and garlic to the pot, sautéing until softened.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes and vegetable broth; stir to combine.
  4. Return turkey bacon to the pot and add sugar, basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  6. Release the pressure, then stir in heavy cream until smooth.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, omit turkey bacon and use coconut cream instead of heavy cream.
  • Enhance flavors by adding fresh herbs like basil or oregano after cooking.
