These Grinch Sugar Cookies are perfect for adding a festive touch to your holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • green food coloring
  • ¾ cup red sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Stir in green food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  7. Form dough into balls and roll in red sugar sprinkles.
  8. Place on a baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, do not overbake.
  • Add more or less food coloring to adjust the intensity of the color.
