  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before removing from the pan.
  9. Frost with chocolate frosting when completely cooled.
