A rich and creamy potato gratin that’s perfectly crunchy on the outside and bubbly on the inside, featuring the delightful flavors of Parmesan and Gruyere cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds russet potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
  4. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Layer half of the potatoes in the baking dish, then pour half of the cream mixture over them.
  6. Sprinkle half of the Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses on top.
  7. Repeat the layering with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

  • Ensure potatoes are sliced evenly for even cooking.
