  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients, and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin).
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely on a wire rack.
