Apple Brownies Glaze

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Then gently fold in the diced apples.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. While the brownies are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Once the brownies are cool, drizzle the glaze over the top.
  10. Slice into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped nuts to the batter before baking.
  • These brownies can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days.
